How to Get the Gauss Gun Early in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl offers players a wide arsenal of weapons to combat the dangers of the Zone. While most guns are familiar variations of popular FPS firearms, the Gauss Gun stands out with its distinct design, mechanized reloading animation, and immense firepower. Although this weapon becomes available later in the story, there’s a way to acquire it early by venturing into Pripyat ahead of schedule.

Accessing Pripyat Early

Pripyat, located in the northwest corner of the map, is usually inaccessible until the later stages of the game. However, with a clever maneuver at the Yaniv station, players can bypass this restriction.

Once you gain entry to Pripyat, make your way to the Palace of Culture and unlock it as a base. Afterward, exit the building and take the road to your left. Continue until you reach the Prometheus Movie Theater.

Unlocking the Door to the Prometheus Movie Theater

When you arrive at the Prometheus Movie Theater, you’ll notice the door is locked, and there’s no key available at this stage of the story. However, a simple trick can help you bypass this obstacle:

1. Equip a grenade and position yourself in front of the door.
2. Aim the grenade at the base of the door.
3. Instead of throwing it normally, use the forward toss mechanic—press LT/L2 on a controller or the right mouse button on PC.

The grenade should clip through the door, detonating the debris on the other side. You may need a few tries to get it right, but eventually, the door will be cleared, allowing you to enter the building.

Finding the Gauss Gun

Once inside the Prometheus Movie Theater, turn to your right. On a dimly lit wooden table, you’ll find the Gauss Gun. Pick it up, and you’ll be able to use it immediately.
